After many weeks of monitoring the evolving situation around Coronavirus (COVID-19), talking to the industry and consulting with our partners, we made the difficult decision to postpone AWRE from 26 – 27 August 2020 and it will now take place on 25-26 November 2020.
The success, as well as the safety, of our exhibitors and visitors, has always been our priority and this continues to be the case.

How can I register to attend AWRE?

How can I attend AWRE Exhibition for free?
Visitors are encouraged to pre-register online to attend the AWRE Exhibition free of charge.
Is there a charge for visiting the Exhibition?
A $20 charge will apply to exhibition visitors who have not pre-registered. We encourage visitors to register online prior to visiting the exhibition to avoid paying at the door.
What is the Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo?
The Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE) offers professionals in the waste and recycling industry (and end users responsible for sourcing the latest products, services and technologies to manage waste, recycling and sustainability) an opportunity to showcase innovation, to network with key waste and recycling decision makers from industry and government, and to attend high quality, practical waste and recycling management seminars on key topics.
When is AWRE 2020?
While AWRE was originally scheduled to be held at the ICC Sydney from 26-27 August 2020, due to the unprecedented events surrounding COVID-19 we made the difficult decision to postpone the event. It will now occur on the 25-26 November 2020 at the ICC Sydney.
Who can attend?
AWRE is a business event and not open to the public. Proof of industry involvement may be requested at the registration counters or the entrance. We suggest you bring along a business card, invoice or company documentation along with personal identification such as a drivers licence or passport. Students enrolled in a relevant course at a tertiary level may attend the show if they have an appropriate student identity card.
Can I bring my family?
Persons under the age of 16 are not permitted to attend the exhibition due to the nature of some of the exhibits on display. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to under 16s.
I am a student, am I able to attend the event?
Students enrolled in a relevant course at a tertiary level may attend the show if they have an appropriate student identity card.
Do I need a Visa for Australia?
If you are from overseas and planning to visit AWRE you will need to comply with the current travel restrictions as set by the Australian Government in response to COVID-19. Click here for the latest updates.
All international visitors need to apply for a business visa. The passport which you hold will determine whether you can apply online, or if you need to lodge a paper-based application. Click here for more information.
Applications need to be made well in advance at the Australian Embassy in your country or in some cases can be made online. For more information visit the Department of Immigration website.
Please note that the organisers DO NOT provide visa invitation letters to international visitors.
Can you provide me with an invitation letter so I can apply for a visitor visa?
Am I allowed to visit the Exhibition more than once?
Yes, once registered you are welcome to visit the show as many times as you like. Please keep hold of your registration badge for re-entry.
