What is the Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo?
The Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE) offers professionals in the waste and recycling industry (and end users responsible for sourcing the latest products, services and technologies to manage waste, recycling and sustainability) an opportunity to showcase innovation, to network with key waste and recycling decision makers from industry and government, and to attend high quality, practical waste and recycling management seminars on key topics.
When and Where is AWRE 2021 happening?
Who can attend?
AWRE is a business event restricted to those who work in the waste, recycling and resource recovery sector, and not open to the public. Students enrolled in a relevant course at a tertiary level may attend if they have an appropriate student identity card.
I am a student, am I able to attend the event?
Students enrolled in a relevant course at a tertiary level may attend the show if they have an appropriate student identity card.
Can you tell me who is exhibiting?
The exhibitor directory will be available closer to the event in 2022.
How can I book a stand?
Will I need to bring identification with me?
Yes. Proof of industry involvement may be requested at the registration counters or the entrance, and can include:
- A business card in your name; or
- Employee verification on company letterhead; or
- Evidence of membership of a relevant professional or industry association.
Can I bring my children with me?
As this is a business event for those people working in the natural or organic space, we recommend that visitors not bring anyone under the age of 15 to the show. This is for their own safety as there is equipment in operation on the show floor that could potentially pose a hazard to children. However, if you bring children along, please ensure they are supervised by an adult throughout the duration of the show.
Tertiary students with valid student ID will be admitted. Due to OH&S, prams, strollers and trolleys (ie shopping trolleys) are strictly not permitted at the event. Under no circumstances are any children permitted into the exhibition halls during the setting up and disassembling of the show.
What do I do if someone tries to sell me the AWRE databases and visitor lists?
Please be aware that AWRE exhibitors have recently been a target of groups trying to take advantage of the AWRE name and your affiliation with the event.
Some of our exhibitors have received phone calls and e-mails from individuals offering attendee lists and directories from a number of hoax third party companies. Please do not attempt to buy AWRE attendee lists.
AWRE and its official partners/or vendors do not sell, rent or distribute attendee lists in any way, nor do we send e-mails via Gmail/Yahoo/Hotmail accounts. All official communication comes from a Diversified Communications Australia email account (@divcom.net.au). Any communication suggesting otherwise is not affiliated with AWRE. We recommend you do not click on any links from e-mails offering these services or from any that look suspicious.
If you have received an email offering a AWRE attendee list, please let us know so that we can take further action against this happening again.
2021 Event Update
AWRE officially cancelled in 2021
With the COVID-19 situation across the nation and particularly in Sydney unfolding rapidly together with the expansion of the lockdowns in multiple cities, we have made the difficult decision to cancel AWRE 2021, scheduled to run 25-26 August 2021.
Why did AWRE 2021 get cancelled?
AWRE represents the national waste and recycling community which brings in exhibitors and visitors predominantly from a large number of different states across Australia. The extension of the lockdowns in New South Wales, Victoria and most recently South Australia has largely impacted interstate travel for our industry to connect which has an adverse effect for us to deliver a nationwide event.
AWRE has always centered around showcasing the full circle of innovative products and sustainable solutions from across Australia, with the opportunity to connect with influential professionals. Whilst we were committed to delivering a much-anticipated face to face event this year, we aim to continue to deliver a truly national event that AWRE has become renowned for in 2022.
“The team have been working hard to plan and deliver AWRE 2021 with new initiatives, it is extremely disheartening to not run AWRE this year. With much reviewing and replanning in the background over the past few weeks, the ambiguity of the coming months has led to the outcome, and we will focus all efforts into delivering a stronger AWRE 2022 instead.” Bill Hare, AWRE Commercial Director.
What are the next show dates?
AWRE will run 24-25 August 2022 at the International Convention Centre, Sydney.
I'm an exhibitor and/or sponsor, can I expect a refund?
We want to provide you with as much flexibility as possible so that you have the confidence to continue to do business with us next year. We are committed to supporting the waste & recycling industry and our customers by offering a number of options:
- Transferring your stand booking to AWRE 24-25 August 2022 at the ICC Sydney (at the same stand rates as 2021);
- Transferring your investment into bespoke and digital options;
Should you wish to withdraw then the principles as set out under part (a) Cancellation will apply and all sums paid by the Exhibitor will be either (1) refunded by the Organiser to the Exhibitor within 14 days; or (2) if agreed between the parties (acting reasonably) held over to the next Exhibition or otherwise dealt with in any other manner agreed.
