What do you pledge?
The first installment of the #AWREpledge campaign saw how important it was to drive change from within existing companies so that they are more accountable for their social and environmental effects of their operations.
The social media campaign prompted individuals and organisations to question how materials can be used more creatively to promote secondary uses and extend product life, as well as question how partnerships can be formed to link sectors and create value.
Fast forward to today, it is still evident that significant opportunity exists to limit our generation of waste and consumption of environmental capital – so we are calling on you to once again ‘pledge’ to improve your waste and recycling habits.
AWRE partners are leading by example, pledging their support by cultivating and practising good habits.
AWRE Charity Partner Secondbite has pledged to ‘divert over 20,000 kg of food waste from landfill every day’, while Resource Recovery Biz pledges to ‘write to local government asking them to implement combined food and garden organics collection and processing’.
If we want to be part of a sustainable future, it is clear we must adapt our current way of life and business models. Join the #AWREpledge.
