ISUZU Australia brings Industry Favourite back to AWRE

Jun 28, 2024

With the requirements of the waste industry clearly growing and the latest Future of Trucking Report indicating that 82 percent of transport industry respondents will be looking at a new heavy vehicle purchase in the next two years, Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) is pleased to join the ranks of Original Equipment Manufacturers attending this year’s Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo.

IAL will be on hand to demonstrate a range of transport solutions specified for the waste task, including the FVY 240-300 6×4 Auto from Isuzu’s F Series truck range—a firm favourite due to its low tare weight and durability under a heavy workload.

Seen about town

With the sector always keen for greater efficiencies, equipment that performs reliably in this around-the-clock industry is paramount—and no one beats Isuzu Trucks at reliability.

At this year’s Expo, an FVY 240-300 6×4 Auto featuring a front-loading hook lift will be showing how Isuzu’s medium-duty truck range can be smartly paired with the necessary industry equipment.

The FVY 240-300 Auto has a GVM of 24,000 kg and GCM of 36,000 kg. Crucially, the cab chassis design is matched with Hendrickson airbag rear suspension, delivering substantial tare weight advantages of up to 300 kg per load—meaning fewer trips, lower operating costs and less emissions.

Isuzu’s six-cylinder, 24-valve six-cylinder 6HK1-TCS engine offers power of 221 kW (300 PS) @ 2,400 rpm and 981 Nm @ 1,450 rpm of torque. Coupled with the Allison 3500 six-speed automatic transmission with power take off mode (PTO) and fifth generation electronic controls, it provides operators with a driveline that meets the demanding needs of waste applications.

Prioritising drivers

The industry may be hardwearing on equipment but that doesn’t mean that safety and comfort are left behind.

Safety elements include interlocks for axle control change overs, safety yellow grab handles and steps, and Isuzu’s safety suite with features such as Electronic Stability Control and Anti-Lock Braking. These features are complemented by a low-light capable reversing camera and cornering lamps for safety in laneways and early mornings.

Aftersales not an afterthought

Recognising the importance of those operating trucks in the harsh application of waste compaction, Isuzu provides a generous three-year warranty (200,000 km) with no engine hour limit, and three years of 24-hour roadside assistance under its Care program.

Isuzu Care has built up a strong reputation since its launch in 2006, providing customers and operators with a unique combination of personalised service and support, making the Isuzu ownership experience one to be remembered.

Connect the dots

IAL National Fleet Sales Manager, Grant Walford, noted that IAL’s experts were looking forward to connecting with industry partners at this year’s Expo.

“Isuzu is thrilled to be back at AWRE to build on our relationships with industry partners and we look forward to showing tailored products specified for the waste and recycling industry—backing it all up with aftersales support that works equally as hard.

“Models such as the FVY Auto have been specifically developed by Isuzu with a lower tare weight to improve productivity and payload for operators.

“Adding the availability and commonality of genuine parts for our F Series truck range, it makes for a compelling total cost of ownership argument, which event goers will have the chance to explore at the stand.” Copies of The Future of Trucking Report – The Way Forward will be available on the Isuzu Stand.
