AWRE 2020 Event Update

Aug 17, 2020

The past few months has continued to see much disruption to the way we conduct business and live our daily lives. AWRE is committed to providing an essential platform for the waste, recycling and resource recovery sector to grow, learn and do business safely, and therefore we are excited to announce that AWRE 2020 will be reimagined and launched as an interactive online event making it accessible to everyone, irrespective of geography or social distancing rules, to run as planned on 25-26 November 2020.

After much consideration and consulting with the industry, running a face to face event this year is not in the best interests of our community. With restrictions on gatherings and other government regulations casting uncertainty over the coming months, it’s never been more crucial for us to come together as a community with a united front.

The AWRE 2020 reimagined online event has been established to offer the flexibility to connect while staying apart, learn and hear from the industry’s best as we navigate a changing world. The Federal Governments announcements on the review of the Product Stewardship Act the $190 million Recycling Modernisation Fund and the NSW State Governments forthcoming 20 Year Waste Strategy are all positive signs for the industry and we are excited to provide a platform to discuss, reflect and explore the strong future of the industry.

“We are proud to continue our Major Partnership of AWRE, as we have done over the 10 year history of this important event.” said Kathy Giunta, Environment Protection Authority Director Circular Economy Programs. “In these changing times it is wise to go online and continue to provide the waste and recycling community with an accessible event.”

AWRE 2020 – Online, Interactive and Engaging

The online event will provide the waste and recycling industry with a new way to interact and communicate through thought leadership webinars, keynote sessions, breakouts and product launches. We are creating more than just an online event – it will be an online interactive experience providing attendees with an engaging experience that is easy to navigate.

“A natural extension to our existing face to face event, AWRE 2020 reimagined as an online event enables companies to continue to interact with our engaged buying audiences, sharing expertise, showcasing brand credentials and building relationships with customers, even in these unprecedented times,” says Bill Hare, AWRE Commercial Director.

“Our well-respected speaker series has provided the waste and recycling industry with continued innovative, informative and industry leading content over the last 10 years and 2020 will be no different. Attendees can join from all around the world with access to top-tier presenters. It will be incredibly powerful to create meaningful connections as distance is no longer a barrier for connecting people.”

AWRE will return to its traditional format next year on 25-26 August 2021 at the ICC Sydney.

We look forward to AWRE 2020 providing an online platform from which the waste, recycling and resource recovery sector can re-establish ties with each other and continue to drive change. Keep an eye out in the coming months for more information how you can reconnect at AWRE 2020 online event or contact our team.
