Industry Favourite Returns to AWRE 2023

Jul 4, 2023

Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) is thrilled to be back at the Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE) which will be held this year over 26–27 July at Sydney's International Convention Centre.

From rubbish collection to liquid waste removal, vacuum pumping, and recycling services, Isuzu Trucks supports many businesses operating in the recycling and waste sector.

At AWRE, Isuzu will be offering showgoers the opportunity to explore a range of transport and aftercare solutions—all with the greater purpose of helping to build a stable and sustainable truck fleet for Australia’s growing waste and recycling task.

City Smart

With the waste industry undergoing rapid change and questions still be answered about what the future holds for waste collection and recycling, efficient and reliable transport is more important than ever, and Isuzu are determined to support the cause. On stand at AWRE, Isuzu Trucks will be displaying a medium wheelbase, side-loading FVY 240–300 Auto with Dual Control, ideally suited for urban waste and refuse applications.

It’s the latest incarnation of Isuzu’s hard-wearing, medium-duty trucks to hit the streets, complimenting a broader model line-up of city-smart trucks that find a home in waste-related activities from curb side collection to scrap metal recycling.

Improved Dual Control

The FVY 240-300 Dual Control offers a Gross Vehicle Mass of 24,000 kg and Gross Combination Mass of 36,000 kg, backed by engineering smarts designed to deliver substantial tare weight advantages.

The Isuzu 6HK1 7.8 Litre engine offering 300 PS (221kW) and a handy 981 Nm of torque in combination with the Allison 3500 six-speed automatic transmission with power take off mode (PTO) and fifth generation electronic controls provides a driveline that meets the demanding needs of side loading waste applications. Meanwhile in the cab, the comfort of an ISRI 6860 air suspension driver’s seat and tilt adjustable steering columns for both Left Hand and Right Hand driving positions in the FVY make light work of long shifts behind the wheel.

Priority Aftercare

All Isuzu dual control models are backed by the brand’s comprehensive six-year standard (or 500,000 km/8,000 engine hours) warranty and six years of 24-hour roadside assistance. For those in harsh garbage compaction applications, a warranty of three-years (200,000 km) applies, with a generous stipulation of unlimited engine hours and three years of 24-hour roadside assistance.

Earlier this year, Isuzu relaunched its much-praised customer care program, Isuzu Care, taking the aftersales experience to the next level.

First launched in 2006, Isuzu’s aftercare program has built a strong reputation for providing customers and operators with a unique combination of personalised 24/7 service and support, making the Isuzu ownership experience an outstanding one.

IAL Chief of Sales and Aftersales, Ben Lasry, said experienced IAL staff were looking forward to connecting with customers in the waste and recycling industry on stand at this year’s AWRE.

“AWRE has always been an innovative event which showcases the industry’s willingness to face Australia’s changing waste management and recycling challenges head-on.

“We are delighted to be back again and building on our relationships with industry partners and taking part in those important conversations for the future,” he commented.

“Isuzu Trucks is here to support our hard-working customers with carefully specified product for the task at hand. And this is all backed by an aftersales approach that works equally as hard for them.

“Our Dual Control range has found a home in many applications across the waste and recycling industry, with the FVY an increasingly popular model for us in this space,” continued Mr Lasry.

“We are looking forward to event goers having the ability to explore the FVY Dual Control model themselves.”
