Joint venture agreed ‘in principle’ over 2016 Sydney mega-conference

Aug 13, 2015

The Waste Management Association of Australia (WMAA) has agreed in principle to a joint venture with Diversified Communications to deliver a huge industry event in Sydney next year.

Once finalised, the Australasian Waste and Recycling Expo (AWRE) will amalgamate with the WMAA’s 2016 ENVIRO Conference in Sydney, creating the industry’s premier east coast based conference and exhibition.
Diversified’s group sales and event director Brett Judd announced the joint venture at a cocktail reception on day one of AWRE in Melbourne last night. “Sydney is a key commercial hub for the Asia-Pacific region and this joint venture will attract strong international interest in addition to the Australian audience expected,” said Judd.He went on to say that this is a positive move for the industry, as the aim is to deliver a superior educational program, showcasing international and domestic speakers alongside a large range of commercial solution providers.
A statement said the conference would “deliver high level learning and networking for professionals and suppliers, government and the community across a range of waste and environmental disciplines”.
WMAA and Diversified hope to tie up the arrangements for the new partnership by the end of the month.
