FOCUS Enviro is co-exhibiting with UNTHA

FOCUS Enviro is co-exhibiting with globally-recognised shredder manufacturer UNTHA at AWRE 2019, reflecting the waste specialists’ collaboration in the marketplace.

The equipment specialist hit the headlines back in May, when news of its exclusive agreement with UNTHA broke, making it the sole distribution partner for this world-class shredding technology, in Australia.

Headquartered in New South Wales – plus with a presence in Victoria, Queensland and the West – FOCUS has amassed a cross-country reputation for bringing world-class machinery to its national client base.

Now UNTHA’s internationally-renowned static and mobile XR shredders for SRF (solid recovered fuel) and PEF (process engineered fuel) production, have been added to the portfolio. This agreement to integrate UNTHA into its suite of solutions has been 10 years in the making and reflects the growing appetite for Australian operators to turn ‘waste’ into a resource.

By July, FOCUS and UNTHA dominated the media once again, with news of the first UNTHA XR shredder already being operational in Melbourne

The 37-tonne mobile machine made the 15,000km journey from UNTHA’s HQ in Austria, to Knox Recycling (KTS) – a long-standing FOCUS client. Now, it will handle up to 30 tonnes of commercial, industrial and wood waste per hour, to manufacture the country’s increasingly popular Energy from Waste resource – Process Engineered Fuel (PEF).

Previously unable to produce this high-specification fuel with only one machine, the Knox team accompanied FOCUS Enviro on several site visits across Europe, to see the UNTHA shredder in action. Impressed by the single pass shredding capabilities of this robust technology, FOCUS Enviro then set about configuring a solution that could achieve Knox’s refined <50mm output particle requirements, with ease.

On the back of industry demand, FOCUS has now ordered another UNTHA XR mobil-e shredder which – by November – will be available for operators to trial using their own materials.

UNTHA’s director of global business development Gary Moore will also take to the stage at AWRE to share how waste challenges – much like the one Australia is currently facing – have been overcome in Europe and the USA. Hear how innovation can lead to greater environmental compliance AND an ability to harness the wealth from residual ‘waste’, on 30 October, 15:15-16:00.
